One thing I’ve always loved are big cats. Ever since I can remember I’ve thought they’re were the most incredible looking animals, beautiful sleek, powerful hunters. Would love to go on safari in Kenya to see them in their natural habitat but that’s probably never gonna happen so will just stick to photographing them in various zoos and wildlife parks for the time being.

Anyway this is an Amur leopard who is currently a resident in Edinburgh zoo 🙂

  1. cAt says:

    Beautiful photograph, coloring is gorgeous.

  2. Down in Kent (just a stones throw away from you) is Howlett’s Zoo. Last time i went there was the most majestic tiger strolling around his pen with only a wire fence between us and him. The power in his paws, which were only 3 feet away, was awe inspiring. You could see how he could strike a man down with one swipe of that paw – and so beautiful.

    • That would be an impressive stone throw!

Yep tigers definitely come under the banner of “terrifyingly beautiful”! Everything about them has evolved to with the single aim of making them top of the foodchain. Incredible animals in every sense of the word

      • as are all the big cats, but tigers are the most serenely beautiful

will have to get some ‘tourist’ tips from you one day should i ever make it back to Edinburgh – my over-riding memories of a family holiday in sunny Scotland are soooo bad
